Charitable Activities by the Marriott Group!

5/20/2019

Ramadan is the best month to be giving especially to someone who isn't expecting it or by doing a deed & expecting no one but ALLAH (The ALMIGHTY) to reward you for it.

Marriott Group has beautifully done this as you shall see in the below press release images & information, these details have made us very proud to be associated with a group that around the year play a very positive and generous role in our society through their CSR Department.

Lets begin with the Iftar hosted at Sheraton for Al Sanabel Orphanage.

As part of Marriott Business Council Bahrain commitment on giving back to the community,
Take Care teams from Sheraton Bahrain Hotel, The Westin & Le Meridien and Marriott
Executive Apartments hosted an iftar for 150 orphans and widows from Al Sanabel
Orphanage at the Al Taj Ballroom at the Sheraton.

Al Sanabel Orphange society has been operating in Bahrain since 1999 lending orphans a
helping hand with their educational, social and entertainment needs. There are 400 families
with more than 800 orphaned boys and girls, from newborns to university students,
registered with the society.

Moving on to the next kind deed done by them and was the Tenth year they did this. As part of its ongoing commitment to the Holy Month of Ramadan, Marriott International celebrated the tenth annual ‘Iftar for Cabs’ initiative at participating Marriott International hotels in the Middle East and Africa, including five properties in Bahrain.

During the hour of Iftar on Tuesday, May 14th , 2019, cab drivers who drove through the main entrance of any of the participating hotels received complimentary Iftar packs to break their fast.

Launched in 2010, the ‘Iftar for Cabs’ initiative has turned into an annual tradition for many cab
drivers throughout the region. The initiative has been widely appreciated by hotel owners, local
communities and transport authorities.

Catering teams at each hotel prepared Iftar packs, which included a diverse selection of food and
beverage items. Associates from across various departments within the hotels, including Catering,
Administration and Guest Services joined forces to bring the ‘Iftar for Cabs’ initiative to life. This
year participating Marriott International properties in Bahrain handed out over 170 Iftar packs to
cab drivers.

Participating properties included Marriott Executive Apartments Manama, Le Meridien City Centre
Bahrain, Residence Inn by Marriott Manama Juffair, Sheraton Bahrain Hotel and Westin City Centre
Bahrain.

“We thank the cab drivers who support our hotels throughout the year. Iftar for Cabs embodies the
spirit of Ramadan and we are extremely proud of our hotel teams as they unite to give back and
recognise important members of our community,” said Guido De Wilde, Chief Operating Officer,
Middle East, Marriott International.

The ‘Iftar for Cabs’ initiative falls under Marriott International’s Sustainability and Social Impact
Platform, Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction, which guides how the company makes a positive and sustainable impact wherever it does business. From empowerment opportunities to sustainable hotel development, the platform is designed to foster business growth while balancing the needs of associates, customers, owners, the environment and communities. One of the priority areas, or “coordinates”, of Serve 360 is Nurture our World. ‘Iftar for Cabs’ is an initiative that directly supports and brings this vision to life

These kind of acts by such corporations restore faith in humanity and leave us feeling thankful for all the blessings we have and happy that we all can play a role and set examples like the Marriott Group for everyone to follow and perform an act of kindness.

Hope this has inspired all of you to come forward and play your part in making the lives of the less fortunate easier in which every way we can. Remember you will never loose by giving you only gain good deeds and the reward lies with the Almighty for everything good we do in this world, this is our chance let's all make sure to use it wisely and be the best versions of ourselves.
