Lakmé 9 to 5 Review & Swatches!

12/10/2014

Assalam o alaikum sisters!

Really excited about this post as it has a few firsts for us, starting off it's our first ever review of a lipstick! First photo shoot of lip colors, swatches and our first ever Lakmé lip colors which were gifted by my bestie Ruhi , who got these for us all the way from India! It had been on our wishlist for quite some time sadly for us Lakmé products aren't available here in Bahrain, not that we know of at least. Anyways, let's begin to sum up our experience with these beauties!

Rainy afternoon click.

Packaging: The Lakmé 9 to 5 Lip Color came in a Peach colored box and Rose Gold Metallic packaging which to me, look gorgeous. They're travel friendly as the tops have a great grip once closed, you will not have to worry about them being open in your bag. The shade numbers and color names are printed at the bottom of the bullets as seen above. Areesha has become fond of lippies and therefore I'm a newbie at using them so for me, it seems like a lot of volume and the consistency is great on the lips!

Lakmé MM2 Wine Play.
Lakmé MP4 Pink Bureau.

Swatch Details: As you can see below , the pigmentation of both is pretty dark at first application and if you're a fan of darker shades just keep applying, Wine play can totally pull a much darker shade that of in 2-3 applications! Pink bureau on the other hand is a berry pink shade therefore if you're a fan of pink shades you will Love it and the best thing is that it suits warmer under tones therefore tends to suit us (desi people) unlike some hot pinks that only suit people with cooler under tones!

After one swatch and a little sunshine.
Swatch after trying to rub them off

After a few hours in indoor light.
Claim: " Lakmé Nine to Five brings you a range of 15 shades that sit on your lips all day long. Enriched with Vitamin E; it conditions your lips & softens them with wheat germ oil. So, perk those soft, smooth lips with a touch of matte."

Review: We believe, they've done a great job in claiming as it does stay on for ages (6 hours tested) even after eating, honestly it did lighten a tiny bit in pigment but was still very visible as you can see in the second image that was after I literally rubbed it away it stayed, unlike some experiences we've had with few other lipsticks which totally disappear after a meal, this one doesn't Wine play didn't but Pink Bureau as it is already a light shade it does tend to lighten earlier than Wine Play. One more point to mention is that MM2 has a tiny shimmer which is not so visible on the lips but it's there in the lip colour! As far as softening factor is concerned yes it does and moisturizing hmm.. they were but not a lot especially for people who have chapped lips it will not act like a lip balm. About the matte finish thanks to it's creamy powderish texture so Yes it's matte!

 Lakmé MM2 Wine Play.
Availability & Price: Most online shopping websites of India have it available, my friend got it from Jabong it's also available on Myntra. Priced at Indian Rs.400/- only. If you'd like to see more of the range click: Lakmé 9 to 5.
